La Collina Ristorante Pizzeria

New York, NY · Session Diary · 2026

There is something genuinely special about stepping into a space where authentic culinary heritage meets family warmth. For this session at La Collina Ristorante Pizzeria, the experience began on a deeply personal note. Having previously connected with Adriano (owner of Da Adriano Caffè), arriving on set felt less like a commercial production and more like reuniting with good friends. We set out not only to document the restaurant’s inviting dining room and culinary craft, but also to capture the heartbeat behind it all: the family.

The Heart Behind the Table: A Family Portrait

We kicked off the day on a relaxed and joyful note with an intimate family portrait session. Working with Adriano, his wonderful wife, and their daughter Emma brought a playful, spontaneous energy to the set. Instead of rigid poses, the goal was genuine laughter and candid connection—capturing Emma’s bright smile against the warm wood textures and rustic glow of the dining room. It set the perfect tone for the rest of the shoot, celebrating the people whose passion and warmth bring the restaurant to life.

From Warm Interiors to Culinary Art

Moving from the portrait session into the culinary showcase, the focus shifted to the craft behind the counter and kitchen. I documented the ambient charm of the dining space before turning the lens toward the star of the menu: the artisan pizzas masterfully crafted by Franklyn. From the blistered, airy crusts fresh from the oven to the vibrant table spreads, every frame was lit and composed to highlight texture, aroma, and the authentic Italian tradition that defines La Collina.
